    Iron Forge Wrestling Academy is an L3 AAU Affiliated premier K-12 wrestling program in North Florida.

    The philosophy of the Iron Forge Wrestling Academy is to teach winning techniques in a fun, safe and supportive environment. We implement a system designed to develop and improve wrestlers' ability and physical fitness level, while also teaching important life skills such as Personal Character, Sportsmanship, Leadership, Team Work, etc..

  • 1.1 The name of the club shall be Iron Forge Wrestling Academy. To be abbreviated herein after IFWA.

  • 2.1 VISION: Iron Forge Wrestling Academy is a place where EVERY wrestler receives the BEST

    Championship Philosophy, Coaching and Instruction, Practice and Competition Schedules, Facilities and Equipment, Conditioning and Strength Training, and Recognition. Iron Forge Wrestling Academy is dedicated to fostering, promoting and encouraging the sport of amateur wrestling. It is our intention to build character, physical health and well-being, sportsmanship, self-confidence, self-esteem, and positive attitudes about dedication, persistence and hard work among the younger generation.


    2.2 MISSION STATEMENT:

    The purpose of the organization is to offer amateur sports programs for all people; to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship; to conduct programs that provide for, enhance and strengthen participation and competition for amateur athletes; to work with other sports organizations to benefit amateur athletes.


    The purpose of the Iron Forge Wrestling Academy is to:

    • Teach wrestling fundamentals and advanced techniques to athletes of all ages and experience levels.

    • Provide a safe and structured atmosphere for learning the sport of wrestling.

    • Teach wrestlers the importance of discipline, ethics, hard work and integrity.

    • Encourage wrestlers to set, work towards and achieve their individual goals.

    • Educate parents and the community about the sport of wrestling.

  • 3.1 REGISTRATION: Active AAU Athlete membership and Online Registration with WrestlingIQ must be completed out by the parent/guardian for each wrestler, active club membership and AAU Card must be on file with IFWA prior to participation in any wrestling activity. 


    3.2 FEES: Membership fees shall be payable as designated by IFWA at the time the individual joins IFWA on a seasonal monthly basis. No member shall be allowed to participate in any IFWA activities unless the membership fees are paid in full prior to the activity. Scholarships may be granted on a case by case basis, determined by the Board of Directors. 


    3.3 PARTICIPATION: Parents and wrestlers are expected to participate in fundraising, our home tournament set up, and volunteer to work our home tournament. It is the parent’s responsibility, as well as the coaches, to see that those participating in the IFWA program demonstrate an atmosphere of positive character on and off the mat. 

    3.4 AGE REQUIREMENTS: K - 12 with exceptions made by board approval 

  • 4.1 MEETINGS OF THE MEMBERSHIP: The membership shall meet a minimum of twice a year, at the start of the season parent meeting and at the end of the season. 


    4.2 SPECIAL MEETINGS: Special meetings of the membership may be called at any time by the Board of Directors. Notice of special meetings shall specify in addition to place, day, and hour of the meeting, the general nature of the business to be transacted. 


    4.3 MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS: The Board of Directors shall meet monthly, at a time and date determined by them to deal with the business at hand. Voting shall be determined by a simple majority of members present.

  • 5.1 FUNDS RAISED: The funds raised by IFWA, except such as may be designated for special purposes, shall be appropriated by the Board of Directors to pay the legitimate and necessary expenses of IFWA in carrying out its primary purpose. No funds of IFWA, nor any procured by it, shall be appropriated or used without prior approval of the Board of Directors. 


    5.2 EXPENDITURES: If expenditures are incurred without the Board’s final approval, then it will take a unanimous vote by the Board to get approval of said expenditures. Expenditures NOT approved by the Board will be the responsibility of the individual incurring the expense. 


    5.3 COMPENSATION: Costs to meet USA Wrestling and AAU requirements for club approved coaches, and other required training costs may be compensated for by IFWA at the Board of Directors discretion. Entry into club tournaments for approved coaches may also be compensated at the Board of Directors discretion.

  • 6.1 A wrestler can be expelled from IFWA for any of the following reasons: Misconduct, which includes, but is not limited to: Biting, fighting, bullying, name calling, abusive language; Vandalism of any and all property, including practice and tournament facilities; Continued disruption of practices or/and poor sportsmanship. The wrestler shall be subject to termination of his or her membership without reimbursement of his or her annual fee, depending on the judgment of the Board of Directors. 


    6.2 A parent/guardian must refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct, which includes but is not limited to; criticizing the coaches, wrestlers, opposing clubs, fans or officials, whether publicly or privately; interfering with the coaching methods of the coaching staff; using abusive and/or profane language. Any comments or concerns by a parent/guardian should be directed to the officers of the organization as soon as possible. A parent/guardian will guarantee athletes will not be unsupervised or unattended before and following practices or competitions and will be responsible for their child’s behavior at all wrestling activities. A parent/guardian may be dismissed and their child’s/children’s membership with IFWA terminated by violation of any of the above noted acts. The determination of this dismissal shall be approved by a majority vote of the board of the organization.

  • 7.1 The By-Laws of IFWA may be amended at quarterly meetings. All board members must be present at meeting for such a vote to take place. A majority vote of affirmative must be had, for the amendment to be made. Updated Amendment will immediately be implemented unless otherwise stated and By-Laws will be posted on club website within 1 week of change.
